"왜?"라는 질문이 끊임없이 떠오른다.

왜 감방에 처박혀야할 저런 쓰레기가 수영연맹회장으로 있는거지?

왜 대법원은 저런 쓰레기를 처벌하지를 않는거지?

왜 수영연맹은 저런 쓰레기가 뭐가 좋다고 회장시켜주는거지?

그리고

왜 이런 일이 일어나도 한국사회는 아무일 없었다 시피 계속 굴러가는 거지?

대중의 반응은 시끄럽기는 하지만 그게 다다. 박태환을 동정하고 수영연맹을 욕하지만 실제로 수영연맹에게 현실적인 심판을 내리는 것에 대해서는 주춤한다는 것이다. 이 뜨거운 감자도 언젠간 식어서 묻혀지겠지.이런 사실을 너무나도 잘 아는 기득권층이다.

어찌보면 대중의 심판을 기대하긴 무리인가 보다. 아무리 사람들이 수영연맹 홈페이지에 비판의 글을 올려보고 아무리 트위터에 이런 분노를 표출하고 전달해도, 홈페이지 글은 삭제하고 트위터는 무시하면 그만이다. 한국의 정의의 여신은 이 정도 비리에 눈을 비추기엔 이보다 더 크고 더 더러운 비리가 너무나도 많기 때문이다.

쓰레기는 많은데 쓰레기통이 없다.

The question "why?' keeps arising endlessly in my head.

Why is such scum of the earth who should be locked up in the cells instead the president of the Swimming Federation?

Why does the Supreme Court not bring justice to that scum?

Why does the Federation elect such scum as their own president?

and

Why does the Korean society wake up in the morning as if nothing had happened?

The response of the people to the incident is loud, but that's as far as it goes. They sympathize with Park and curse at the Federation, but they stop short at bringing actual judgment to it. This hot potato will cool in time; this is something that the Establishment knows too well.

In a way, it is too much to ask for a judgment from the people. However people upload their critical opinions on the Federation website and express their unquenchable anger on twitter, the Federation will delete the opinions and ignore twitter alerts. They can get away with this because the goddess of justice in Korea has bigger and dirtier corruptions to attend to.

So much trash, but nothing to clean it up.
